Excerpt from my book

The Art of Grieving - gentle self-care practices to heal a broken heart.

How to use this book

a gentle guide on your healing journey

You may have chosen this book because you were attracted by the cover and title, you felt called to it or you were intrigued by what might be written inside. Whatever the reason, I would like to give you a warm welcome. You are ready to embrace your grief and heal your broken heart. Many readers will be able to process their grief on their own, but if the pain and emotions you are experiencing are too overwhelming please do seek help from a grief counsellor who can help you on your journey. I offer within some healing self-care practices, which I refer to as rituals, for you to explore, and you can use these rituals to help you further on your grieving and healing journey.

Some of the rituals can be undertaken at home, while others are outdoor rituals. If you are new to rituals and find the idea of performing them outdoors daunting, start with the ones you can easily do at home. Once you have built your confidence you can incorporate the outdoor rituals.

This book is not meant to be read from cover to cover but rather to be used as a gentle guide on your healing journey. My advice is to choose a ritual that engages your curiosity and resonates with you on a deeper level.

I have included a special section for women who are facing fertility issues, and the silent grief that comes with his journey, and for mothers who have experienced pregnancy loss, a subject close to my heart.

Skip any pages that feel less relevant to you and go to the ones you need in the moment. Feel free to elaborate and add your uniqueness to the rituals; in fact, I encourage you to do so. You can create your very own ritual that holds special meaning for you. As you turn the pages, I wholeheartedly invite you to dive deeper into the magic of rituals.

I hope the gentle practice of self-care rituals gives your sorrow the space it needs to create the transformation you are seeking. It is only through embracing and expressing your grief that you can eventually begin to heal the fragmented pieces of your heart and start to feel whole again. My biggest hope is that you find solace, inspiration and comfort within the pages of this book. May you feel my comforting presence as I accompany you through each and every page.

Love Rituals - love is everything

Love is both the source and the remedy to our sorrow. The seed of grief is love and the seed of healing is love. Without love there is no grief, and without love there is no healing.

Love + loss = grief

Grief + love = healing

Sorrow and love have their roots in the heart space. Sorrow is constricting whereas love is expanding. This duality dwells in the same space and a large portion of healing is learning to live with this duality. Feeling the constriction of sorrow and at the same time allowing love to flow freely and expand through your entire body then pouring it out into the world takes both time and dedication.
